Horse Sculpture at Entrance

We visited the Cantor Arts Center last Sunday, to see the Carleton Watkins exhibit. Although these photos are not as aesthetically appealing as Ansel Adams, they are still iconic images from the early days of American landscape photography. I also included shots of random art pieces, including the 20-ft. tall spiral sculpture outside the main building.

SubZero Street Festival

This is a biennial street fair held in downtown San Jose, in and around South First Street. This year it included artists’ booths, food trucks, a beer garden, live performers (both music and mime), street vendors, and TechnoArt at the Zero1 Garage installation. The art galleries and museums in the area were also open late – so much good, interesting art that it’s hard to see it all in one evening. I really recommend MACLA, ICA, and the Museum of Quilts and Textiles. Click here for gallery.

Klein Bottle with Internal Video

This was a very exciting event, held at San Jose McEnery convention center, featuring the work of contemporary artists from all over the world. The quality of the art was very very high; very interesting, cutting-edge work. I was delighted to find out that this is planned to be an annual event.
